Wae Rebo Traditional Village

Wae Rebo is a traditional village located in the middle of rainforest. it is a village with a typical of conical shaped house. there are 9 lineages living in the village which own every traditional house in the village. Wae Rebo village is now days well known in the world wide because of its uniqueness. Trekking to Wae Rebo village required a healthy conditions because it takes 2.30 hours to reach the village. The trekking through the rain forest will be another challenge of the trip. in Wae Rebo village there there is no internet connection or even electricity. The light will be powered by generator which only works until 20.00. So, please be ready for the real adventure.

DAY 01. LABUAN BAJO – KAMPUNG DENGE – WAE REBO

witness the beautiful view of the stars up in the sky if the weather is dealing with you at the night time You will begin your journey either from your hotel or the airport in which your tour guide will initially welcome you. Your journey to Kampung Denge will spends about 6 hours, but you will have a stop in Lembor for taking pictures with the beautiful view of the flat rice field and the mountainous surrounded. You can also interact with the local people there. Your lunch will be served enroute. Arriving at Kampung Denge, then you can start your hiking to reach Wae Rebo. It is about 9km which can be spent about 2,5 hours. A comfortable hiking shoes is very recommended as you will explore the varieties of flora in the virgin jungle with its elevation about 1.200 above sea level. The whistling of birds will entertain your journey to the ancestral village of Wae Rebo. On your arrival at the village, you will be lead to the main house (Niang Gendang) where the head of the village is. There, you will be welcomed by the head of the village by conducting a small welcome ritual due to the tradition of Manggarainese. Then, you’ll be lead to a typical homestay which is conical-form where you will spend your night there. Lunch and dinner will be served at local homestay. After having typical lunch from the villager, then you may walk around to see the main crops of Wae Rebonese like Coffee, Cacao etc. it is your fun time to interact with friendly local people to learn about their way of life and their culture as well. You can.

DAY 02. WAE REBO – KAMPUNG DENGE – LABUAN BAJO

After having breakfast, then you will start trekking down to Kampung Denge where your Ac car driver is waiting for you. Then, driving back to Labuan Bajo, but you can have some stops on the way for photograph. Then, arriving in Labuan Bajo for check in hotel or take you to the airport.
